The Naval Museum boasts a peculiar collection made up of a set of items of very different types and materials. Many of them were added to the Museum's holdings throughout the 19th century, when collecting historical objects, replicas and curiosities became customary.

Among these objects are items such as stones from the cave in Algiers where Miguel de Cervantes was held, pieces of the tree in which Hernán Cortés took refuge during the so called Sad Night, a box with relics of the heroes who died in the battle of Callao, a fan with the signatures of surviving officers from Rear Admiral Cervera's squadron imprisoned at the Annapolis Naval Academy in 1898, a pen and pencil case belonging to Cánovas del Castillo, and a moon rock fragment, a gift from US President Richard Nixon in 1973 to Admiral Carrero Blanco.
