The F-100 frigate ‘Almirante Juan de Borbón’ has integrated into SNMG-1 (Standing NATO Maritime Group One)
Frigate ‘Almirante Juan de Borbón’ (F-102), customarily stationed in Ferrol, set sail on September 14th to integrate into SNMG-1 for a two-month deployment.
The ship will sail in Northern European waters conducting surveillance and maritime security tasks, as well as different naval exercises along with other Allied navies.
With this deployment, Spain and the Spanish Navy reaffirm and strengthen their commitment with NATO, thus contributing to deterrence and the collective defense, providing naval presence and enhancing the training on interoperability among navies from several friendly nations.
The F-102, joins AOR ‘Cantabria’ as another naval unit integrated into one of NATO’s standing maritime forces. In fact, for more than one and a half years, Spain has deployed a warship from the 31st escort squadron.
