F-80 frigate ‘Navarra’ and F-100 frigate ‘Álvaro de Bazán’ have taken part in the international exercise ‘Dynamic Manta 22’ (DYMA 22) conducted in the Ionian Sea. The exercise was intended to enhance the anti-submarine training of the air and naval forces of the Atlantic Alliance.
The two frigates left Rota Naval Base and during the transit towards the theater of operations carried out several individual and collective drills in order to increase the level of training prior to the integration into DYMA 22.
After a port call in Syracuse, all participating units met on the 21st of February in formation for the official photo (PHOTEX) before starting the scheduled exercises, consisting in different anti-submarine drills along with other naval units from NATO’s Standing Maritime Group Two (SNMG-2)
Finally, on March the 2nd, the ‘DYMA 22’ concluded after conducting a total of 31 anti-submarine drills, the Spanish frigates having participated in 9 of them.
