The Spanish Navy ‘Dédalo 23’ Task Group has concluded its participation in one of the most important French Navy manoeuvers called ‘Hemex Orion 2023’ simulating a large scale conflict between Armed Forces with similar capabilities.
The exercise is to be developed during this year in several stages. The French Armed Forces, along with some allied nations will develop different scenarios in the following domains: land, maritime, air, space and cybernetic.
The maritime stage of the operation took place between February 21st and March 3rd with participation of 29 surface and underwater ships as well as numerous aircraft. Among the participating units it is worth underlining the presence of the ‘Dédalo 23’ Task Group including the Spanish Navy’s submarine ‘Tramontana’. After their participation in NATO’s exercise ‘Neptune Strike’, the LHD ‘Juan Carlos I’ and F-100 frigate ‘Blas de Lezo’ also joined the second phase of the maritime operation.
The ‘Dédalo 23’ is currently getting ready to participate in the next activity; namely a multinational amphibious operation which will shortly take place in the Central Mediterranean.
With its participation in foreign operations, the Spanish Navy is contributing to peace and international security while supporting the ‘Marca España’ thanks to the presence of different units deployed all over the world.
