On August 17, the Chief of Staff of the Armada (AJEMA) Admiral General Antonio Piñeiro and his wife attended the prestigious Royal Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle, Scotland. This event, one of the most outstanding exhibitions of the British Armed Forces with international military and cultural bands, was attended by the AJEMA as the highest-ranking military authority invited.

The AJEMA and his wife were welcomed by the First Sea Lord and his wife, and was also accompanied by the Secretary of the U.S. Navy, the Honorable Carlos del Toro, the Chief of the Irish Naval Service, Commodore Mick Malone and his wife, as well as other distinguished British and American guests.

During the event at Edinburgh Castle, the AJEMA took a place of honor in the Royal Gallery and acted as “Salute Taker”, saluting after each of the performances in a ceremony that has drawn thousands of spectators. The AJEMA's presence was announced to the audience upon his arrival, highlighting the importance of his participation in this international event.

Edinburgh's Royal Military Tattoo consists of a series of concerts and performances by the British Armed Forces, as well as international military and cultural bands, on the forecourt of Edinburgh Castle. It is held almost every night in August for charity purposes. An appraisal dated 2017 estimated that £10 million had been donated over the years to the arts, military and civilian charities, such as the Army Benevolent Fund. The event brings in up to £100 million annually in revenue for Edinburgh's economy, according to Tattoo's own estimates.

The AJEMA's visit to Edinburgh concluded on August 18, after representing the Spanish Navy at this renowned international event.
