In the framework of this exhibition, the Chief of Staff of the Spanish Navy (AJEMA) met the new U.S. Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV), John Phelan.
On 7 and 8 April, the Chief of Staff of the Armada (AJEMA), Admiral General Antonio Piñeiro, attended the main maritime security and defense fair,
Sea-Air-Space (SAS), which was held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Maryland, USA.
The convention provided an excellent opportunity to hold a series of bilateral meetings, highlighting the one held in the Pentagon with the new Secretary of the Navy of the United States (SECNAV) John Phelan. The AJEMA also held a meeting with the US Navy’s acting Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral J.W. Kilby.
This is the first high-level international meeting held by the SECNAV after taking office and, once again, demonstrates the good relations between the Navies of both countries.
This fair has been promoted by the US Navy League for 59 years and is held annually. The SAS 2025 has included panels and seminars on policy and strategy issues in which experts from the US Departments of State, Defense and National Security have participated.
