The fleet replenishment ship ‘Cantabria’ has accomplished her last deployment in Australia after concluding the second stage of the multinational exercise ‘Triton Centenary 2013’.

The ship is now docked at Garden Island (Sydney), her home port during the 2013 deployment in Australia. The ‘Cantabria’ is getting ready for her long journey back to Spain. During the return cruise, the ship will call at the following ports: Jakarta (Indonesia), Goa (India) and Aksaz (Turkey).

Second Stage of ‘Triton Centenary 2013’

The ‘Cantabria’ set sail on October 12th to take part in the second stage of the multinational exercises ‘Triton Centenary’ (TC-13); she was the only replenishment ship of the task force which required great flexibility to meet the logistic requirements of all participating units.

In this second stage of TC-13 the ‘Cantabria’ carried out 8 replenishments at sea supplying more than two and a half million liters of ship and aircraft fuel. In total, more than 5 million liters of fuel have been supplied in the two stages of the exercise.

The ‘Cantabria’ embarked once again an air unit from the 723 RAN Squadron: namely a Taipan 820 helicopter to continue with the scheduled training drills of the air crews.

Before arriving at Garden Island, the ‘Cantabria’ made a logistic port call at Chowder Bay to load fuel before sailing back to Spain.
