Las Palmas de Gran Canaria organized the 4th edition of the International Sea Fair (FIMAR in its Spanish initials) from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th. This event intends to bring the sea closer to the citizens.

As on previous occasions, the Spanish Navy actively participated once again with three stands: one from the Canary Islands Security Unit, one from the Diving Unit, and another one from the Personnel Support Department. They explained the different assets used and activities organized by the Spanish Navy and ways to join the Service.

One of FIMAR’s highlights was the presence in port of the oceanic patrol vessel (OPV) ‘Meteoro’ that was visited by 2,500 people during the open doors day.

The fair concluded with a nautical celebration in Santa Catalina basin with the participation of more than 200 vessels.
