The light transport ship ‘El Camino Español’ arrives at her home port in Cartagena

The light transport ship ‘El Camino Español’ has just arrived at Cartagena after a round trip from the Lebanon in support of operation ‘Libre Hidalgo’ in Eastern Mediterranean.

Prior to her arrival, the ship stopped in Valencia to unload the Army cargo. ‘Libre Hidalgo’ is a UNIFIL-sponsored peacekeeping operation in the Lebanon.

On her cruise back to Spain, the light transport ship made two scheduled logistic calls at Heraklion (Greece) and Catania (Sicily).

The ‘El Camino Español’ is a transport ship capable of embarking all kind of Army vehicles. The ship belongs to the Spanish Army, but is manned and operated by the Spanish Navy.
