The new ‘Task Force 465’ Commander visits the frigate ‘Navarra’

On Saturday 16th the frigate ‘Navarra’, on duty patrolling the Internationally Recommended Transit Corridor (IRTC) in the Gulf of Aden, received the visit of the new EU Task Force Commander, the Italian rear-admiral Guido Rando, who took command of TF-465 on August 5th in the port of Djibouti on board the Italian destroyer ‘Andrea Doria’.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the Spanish frigate, her Commanding Officer and the crew. Rear-admiral Rando and his Staff were briefed on the ship’s capabilities and assets made available for the success of this EUNAVFOR’s counter-piracy mission in the Indian Ocean.

The Italian command group was later toured around the ship and held several working meetings with the ship’s officers and Staff members.
