As part of the scheduled calendar of events of the ‘Africa Partnership Station 2015’ (APS) initiative, five Spanish Marines arrived at Ghana from Morón Air Base to integrate into the multinational training team along with other U.S. and British servicemen.
The training team was subsequently transferred to the ‘Jungle Warfare School’ where three courses were organized with Ghanaian Navy students on basic tactics with small units and shooting techniques.
The instructors are currently in Sekondi Naval Station (Ghana) to continue with training activities on RHIB handling and maritime interdiction operations (MIO).
The APS initiative intends to provide military and cooperative security assistance to Gulf of Guinea nations in order to enhance stability in the area by improving maritime security capabilities of west-African nations.
