The mission of this patrol boat is coastal surveillance of Ceuta, protection of fishing vessels in the area, surveillance of Perejil Isle, illegal migration control, etc.
The P-114’s home port is Ceuta, a city with a long-standing military tradition. Different Army and Legion units are stationed here.
The ship has an MG machinegun (12.7 mm), as well as rifles and a pistol.
The P-114 has an outboard engine Zodiac MARK I.
The patrol boat was built in 1979 in Arenys de Mar (Barcelona) and delivered the same year to the Spanish Navy. During her first operational period she was deployed in Malaga.
As of 1993 the boat was transferred to the city of Ceuta in northern Africa.
The crew consists of 9 people: 1 officer, 2 NCOs and 6 ratings.
A series of patrols are organized every year, especially around the city of Ceuta and the Spanish isled and rocks in the zone.
The most important mission of the P-114 was the “Romeo Sierra” eviction operation in Perejil (July 17th 2002).
Different shipping control exercises are also organized with the Army in the vicinity of Ceuta.
