The ‘Isla de León’ is stationed in the port of Ceuta, a Spanish city located in the north of Africa very much connected to the Army with Legion companies and the 54th ‘Regulares’ Group, the most decorated Unit of the Spanish Army.
The ship has a 12.7 mm BROWNING machine-gun and a different array of handguns and rifles.
This Rodman 101-class light patrol boat (P-83) was built in the year 2003. She served as a coast guard vessel for the Galician Government until 2022 when the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries transferred her to the Spanish Navy and was subsequently stationed in Ceuta.
The crew consists of 10 people: 1 officer, 2 non-commissioned officers, and 7 leading seamen and ratings.
We regularly carry out maritime surveillance patrols off the Spanish coast of Ceuta, the areas near the Moroccan borders of Benzu and Tarajal, and the isle of Perejil.
