MARSUR is a European Union initiative, led by the European Defense Agency (EDA), for the exchange of information between European navies.
This community of countries with a shared interest in improving maritime surveillance have a technical solution enabling information exchange among European Maritime Operations Centres (MOCs). With 19 Member States plus Norway, this forum aims to improve the “Shared Maritime Situational Awareness” by facilitating the information exchange and using a system that provides operational maritime services such as ship positions, tracks, identification data, chat or images.

The PESCO UMS (Upgrade of Maritime Surveillance) Project aims at the creation of a Maritime Surveillance system that combines existing systems and innovative solutions in order to achieve an adequate Maritime Situational Awareness through information received in real time from shore stations, manned and unmanned systems.
